Πληθώρα νέων πληροφοριών για το Halo 5: Guardians

Η εφημερίδα The Guardian είχε την ευκαιρία να παίξει από νωρίς το Halo 5 και να μεταφέρει τις εντυπώσεις της αλλά και πάρα πολλές νέες πληροφορίες σχετικά με το campaign, το story και το multiplayer. Οι πληροφορίες που θα διαβάσετε παρακάτω αποτελούν δείγμα του πόσο ανανεωμένο και φρέσκο θα είναι το Halo 5 ως προς το στήσιμο του στους τομείς του gameplay, της πλοκής και των γραφικών.

Να θυμήσουμε πως στην Press Conference της Microsoft θα δούμε εν δράσει το campaign για πρώτη φορά, ενώ τις ημέρες της Ε3 θα δημοσιευθει και ένα ειδικό making of ντοκιμαντερ με τίτλο The Sprint. Πάμε να δούμε τις πληροφορίες για το campaign και του multiplayer του Halo 5: Guardians που κυκλοφορεί στις 27 Οκτωβρίου αποκλειστικά για το Xbox One

  • The game's set 8 months after the events of Halo 4
  • The campaign is definitely played from two different persepctives - Master Chief's Blue Team and Agent Locke's Fireteam Osiris
  • Each member of Blue Team has different skills (it's not clear if that's a narrative point or an actual game mechanic)
  • Fireteam Osiris is made up of Agent Locke, Kelly-087, Tanaka and Edward Buck (played by Nathan Fillion)
  • Playing campaign alone, you can order the rest of the Fireteam using a set of simple commands such as "go here, attack that, revive, drive vehicle"
  • Reviving other squad members offers you a reward (not clear what this is right now)
  • Fireteams have dynamic conversations, reacting to what's happening around you
  • The Covenant are an enemy once more, "resurgent and eager to reimpose themselves"
  • Promethean enemies return, and with new enemy types to battle
  • The Arbiter (who we already knew was returning) is fighting against the Covenant
  • Campaign Spartans are given extra abilities on top of the multipler ones (dashes, ground pounds etc.) - "revive" and "tracking"
  • Cortana returns in some respect, saying "The Reclamation has begun" in a cutscene that could be a hallucination or dream
  • Single player maps are bigger than usual, with alternate routes to take and multiple ways to complete objectives - offers options for co-op and replay value
  • Difficulty scales depending on the number of human players - the number of enemies, and their skill levels are affected
  • In co-op, players are encouraged to work in pairs going down different routes
  • Graphics-wise, it is "a huge step forward"
  • The campaign takes you onto Research and Development vessel, the Argent Moon
  • The soundtrack has been re-recorded at Abbey Road, with a piano motif added to the familiar main theme
  • There are 40,000 lines of dialogue in the game
  • Sound effects have been re-recorded in multiple locations
  • Locke has his own bombastic theme tune
  • Incineration Cannon is back and has changed compared to Halo 4. Players can charge up a shot and the longer you charge, the more powerful it is. Battery based rather than ammo based.
  • Railgun is back from Halo 4 and works almost identically – could hold up to 11 shots
  • Overshield was present had some weird screen effect when you picked it up – looked like a bug
  • Boltshot is back but doesn’t work like halo 4 – no shotgun fire mode. fires two shots at once and sort of tracks players
  • Suppressor is back and fires a lot slower
  • Blue outline on weapons was in the build
  • Killcams were disabled in the build, could spectate players while you were dead
  • BR spread was near-gone – fired so fast
  • Spartan chatter was reduced hugely, less pointless callouts
  • Spartan bro moments cut down, game ending segment is just your spartans walking towards the screen, no more highfives and shit
  • Killfeed modified to be like this: “PLAYER NAME” “WEAPON KILLED WITH” “PLAYER NAME”
  • Pistol RoF is modified to be slower but is a lot more powerful – competes with AR and BR
  • Ground pound is harder to use, radius is tiny
  • Overshield was bugged, my shields said i constantly had it even after death
