Το πρόγραμμα κυκλοφοριών της Disney με Avatar μέχρι το 2027

Η Walt Disney Company γνωστοποίησε το πρόγραμμα κυκλοφοριών της για τα επόμενα 8 χρόνια και συμπεριλαμβάνει 65 κινηματογραφικές παραγωγές, από τα διάφορα τμήματά της, δηλαδή τα Marvel Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Disney Animation, και τη Fox. Οι αριθμοί αυτοί προκαλούν ίλιγγο σε κάθε άλλο στούντιο. Η ενίσχυση της με την εξαγορά της 20th Century Fox δεν προκάλεσε πονοκέφαλο στον προγραμματισμό της και αρκετές ταινίες της FOX έχουν αφαιρεθεί από αυτό, όπως το Gambit ή καθυστερούν εκ νέου όπως το New Mutants. 

Στις σημαντικότερες αλλαγές παρατηρείται ότι όλες οι Avatar ταινίες μετατέθηκαν για δυο χρόνια αργότερα από την αρχική τους ημερομηνία πρεμιέρας του 2020-2025 και πήγαν για την περίοδο 2021-2027, ούτως ώστε να κάνουν χώρο για τη νέα Star Wars τριλογία. 

Επομένως τα άκρως αναμενόμενα τέσσερα sequel του επικού franchise που δημιούργησε ο James Cameron θα ξεκινήσουν να προβάλλονται από τον Δεκέμβριο του 2021 με το Avatar 2, έπειτα το Avatar 3 το 2023, μετά ακολουθεί το Avatar 4 το 2025 και τέλος το Avatar 5 το 2027.
